We are thrilled to announce that the Wiota Fire Department has been awarded a $10,000 grant from State Farm and the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC)! This grant is a tremendous boost for our department and will directly support the purchase of new turnout gear—including helmets, jackets, pants, boots, and gloves.
Firefighting is demanding and dangerous work, and having up-to-date gear is essential for the safety and effectiveness of our volunteers. Many of our current sets have reached the end of their service life, and this funding allows us to ensure our team is fully protected when responding to fires, vehicle accidents, and other emergencies.
We want to congratulate our department on receiving this award and express our heartfelt gratitude to all of our volunteers. Your dedication and hard work keep our community safe every day.
A special thank you also goes to State Farm and the NVFC for their support of rural fire departments. Grants like this make a real difference, helping us maintain safety, readiness, and excellence in serving Wiota and the surrounding areas.
