Wiota Fire Department

The Wiota Fire Department was established in 1949 and has proudly served the township for more than 75 years. What began as a small group of committed volunteers has grown into a dedicated and dependable department, continually working to protect the residents and property of Wiota and the surrounding area.

In its early years, the department relied on limited equipment and strong community spirit to answer calls for help. Over time, through the dedication of its volunteers and the ongoing support of the township, Wiota has steadily modernized its resources and strengthened its emergency readiness.

Today, the department not only responds to emergencies but also plays an active role in the community through fundraisers, educational outreach, and local events. In 2025, Wiota received a $10,000 grant to purchase new fire protection gear—an important investment that enhances volunteer safety and supports the department’s ability to serve for many years to come.
